Data Quality Manager
The key focus of the role will be getting hands on with our data, setting up and reporting on quality, as well as understanding the root cause of processes that create poor quality data and working to rectify this. You will act as a data quality evangelist and help improve data literacy across Emerald.
Location: We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions.

Description
We are looking for a Data Quality Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for monitoring, managing and improving the quality of our data for the benefit of both our internal stakeholders and external customers.The key focus of the role will be getting hands on with our data, setting up and reporting on quality, as well as understanding the root cause of processes that create poor quality data and working to rectify this. You will act as a data quality evangelist and help improve data literacy across Emerald.

Day to day we’ll trust you to:
- Improve the data quality for key data domains across Emerald
- Set up data quality dashboards to monitor and report on quality while also setting targets and alerting thresholds
- Define what good quality data and data management looks like as well as working to embed best practice across the organisation
- Understand the business processes that are driven by the use of data, so that data lifecycles can be documented and ensure compliance with data quality standards
- Coordinate the activities and update processes required to improve data quality at source
- Coordinate the delivery of a Business Glossary on key data assets
- Define and monitor Data Quality policies and monitor compliance against them
You’ll need to have:
Skills:- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience of building reports & dashboards
- Experience of conducting root cause analysis
- Communication & teamwork
- Stakeholder management
- Presentations skills with an ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple way
- Understanding of the different data management disciplines and how they contribute to the management and improvement of data
- Technically literate with experience/knowledge of SQL, PBI, Python, Azure Synapse Pipelines, Delta, Azure SQL DB
- Knowledge of data governance principles would be useful
- Experience of developing business glossaries to promote common understanding of business terms
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including influencing, negotiations skills and conflict resolution
- Ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation
