Be part of our movement, let’s pursue excellence together. Summary: This role focuses on managing and operating Pacira’s Enterprise Data and Insights Platform (EDIP). Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing how data and/or insights are consumed and ensuring alignment of EDIP to the needs of the business. In collaboration with partners, the role ensures EDIP conforms with regulatory, security and data governance requirements, and defines nonfunctional requirements such as shareability, reusability, concurrency of access, performance, and refresh rates.    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Manage the daily activities of the Team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and support of EDIP and projects.
  • Oversee data design and creation of database architecture and data repositories.
  • Ensure that all phases and processes in the data supply chain are fully supported to ensure high levels of data quality, security and privacy.
  • Identify high business value data and insight use cases and support prioritization based on feasibility and value.
  • Manage the relationship with 3rd Party Data Vendors as well as the Vendor supporting EDIP.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality, implementing corrective measures when necessary.
  • Lead data-related projects, coordinating with other departments to ensure project success.
  • Develop strategies to optimize data flow and quality, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with Enterprise counterparts (e.g., Commercial Operations, and Analytic Teams) to ensure the platform meets Enterprise’s data and insights needs.
  • Monitor data warehouse performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain data integrity and security.
  • Track and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role may have supervisory responsibilities.Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field is required
  • 8 years of enterprise data warehousing, data modeling and data mining experience required
  • Experience operating an Enterprise Data Warehouse platform in the Life Sciences industry required
  • Proficiency in SQL and general data analysis techniques required

    • Proven track record of developing, executing and operating successful insights and analytics projects across a wide range of internal stakeholders
    • Working knowledge of commercial and corporate data sources and tools (e.g., Veeva, SAP, ADP)
    • Able to travel 10%
    • Strong project and process management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines
    • Solid understanding of the concepts, methods and techniques used:
      • Analytics, for example diagnostic, descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive.
      • Data management, for example data integration and transformation (ETL) and Master Data Management (MDM).
      • Data architecture, for example the difference between data warehouse, data lake or data hub.
      • Data structures, for example structured, semi structured and unstructured data.
      • Data governance, for example MDM, data quality and data stewardship practices.
    • Experience with life science commercial, corporate and supply chain management business process and associated data along with analytic methods:
      • Business acumen, for example understanding business concepts
      • Business process transformation, for example with Digital Transformation the ability to understand how data and insights help implement ROI measurement of campaigns.
    • Strong understanding and experience of the methods and techniques of Data and Analytics along with the technology supporting Data and Analytics.
      • Programming languages like SQL, Python or R and notebooks like R Studio or Jupyter
      • Microsoft Data and Analytics platforms like Dataverse 
      • Analytics and business intelligence tools like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and excel (power query)
