The Department of Engineering Technology at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a 1-year Postdoc position in investigating the impact of AI on the workplace, starting February 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter in 2025. The position is affiliated with the Strategy and Leadership Development research group, which aims to develop new knowledge and rethink how workplaces and organizations understand management and organization of work when implementing new technologies and facing societal and technological changes.
Responsibilities and qualifications
You are fascinated by the role of artificial intelligence in workplaces in improving efficiency, enhancing decision-making, and creating new opportunities, but also concerned about thoughtful implementation, continuous monitoring, and ethical issues when adopting AI in organizations. In this Postdoc position, you will
- Conduct research on different aspects of AI's impact on the workplace
- Publish research in recognized journals
- Participate in applications for external research funding
- Actively participate in section and departmental activities

To meet the position's requirements, the applicant is expected to be regularly present in the department and give and receive feedback on research papers to/from colleagues.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). We furthermore expect
- A strong relevant background in the field of Artificial Intelligence (or other new digital technologies) use in organizations from a management or information systems perspective
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence methods at a technical level
- Experience in publishing journal articles
- The ability to work independently
- An active interest or experience in strong collaborations and interdisciplinary work
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Extensive experience with different qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Teaching experience and demonstrated ability to teach in Danish
You will work closely with Associate Professor Kathrin Kirchner and collaborate with other researchers in the research group and the department with different professional and cultural backgrounds.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
The period of employment is 1 year. The starting date is 1 February 2025 (or soon thereafter, according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position that requires regular physical presence in the department. The interviews are planned to take place in January 2025.
