Job Description

Primary Function of Position

In this role, the Data Operations Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the processes involved in data collection, ingestion and preparation of data pipelines to ensure that data is accurate accessible and ready for scrutiny by data analysts and data scientists within Global Operations. The candidate will collaborate with the cross-functional teams, and internal customers to help business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience and productivity. This role requires an exceptional understanding of both the technical and strategic aspects of data management. Confidence, clarity, and communication are key traits necessary for success in this role.

Essential Job Duties

  • Design and implement efficient data ingestion workflows to capture data from various sources.
  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines that ensure seamless data flow and transformation for analytical readiness.
  • Collaborate with EA and IT teams to implement and maintain secure data storage solutions that support scalable access for data scientists.
  • Oversee the data cleaning, transformation, and enrichment processes to ensure quality and consistency of data.
  • Implement data validation checks and balances to guarantee the integrity and accuracy of data used for analysis.
  • Work closely with data scientists to understand their data requirements and adjust data operations to meet their needs.
  • Stay abreast of new data management technologies and methodologies to continuously improve data preparation processes.
  • Train and manage a team of data engineers and analysts in best practices for data collection, preparation, and maintenance.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Data warehouse and Business Intelligence development and support
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Database development on Snowflake, SQL server, or Oracle platforms
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in designing, building, and implementing complete ETL processes and database back-end architecture using SQL, TSQL, Python, and Airflow.
  • Minimum 2+ Years of experience in data warehousing and ELT development on the Snowflake data platform
  • Experience and functional understanding of data pipelines from SAP, Salesforce, and Cloud applications.
  • Minimum 2+ Years of experience with git and version control
  • Ability to use APIs to fetch data from different sources.
  • Ability to work in a customer-facing role, with proven verbal and written communication skills, to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Education and Training

  • Minimum a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Python for data ingestion and processing
  • Experience visualizing data in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, and Business Objects.
  • 2+ Years experience with managing or leading other Data Engineers
