Position Summary
This is an opportunity to solve problems and build a functioning data reporting and analytics function. You should have experience with a variety of analytic skills and platforms such as Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, dbt, and Snowflake. You will work directly with internal stakeholders to assist them with ad-hoc requests and new opportunities. The candidate will have the ability to leave their mark on a growing analytics function with opportunities to learn a variety of related platforms (such as Power BI, Azure, Snowflake, and more)
Position Scope
Full-stack data engineer who can design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and solutions for our business needs. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing data models, extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources, and delivering insights and reports using data visualization tools. You will also collaborate with other data analysts and stakeholders to ensure data quality, reliability, and scalability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with internal stakeholders to deliver ad-hoc analysis of raw data, statistical model development, research into emerging analytics trends, presentation development, as well as technology research
Assess data for validity and work on required data preparation with attention to detail and alignment to business requirements
Translate data into analytical outputs that enables our stakeholders to answer fundamental questions that are central to their success
Develop, implement, and support methodologies, standards, and tools for analysis and data science work
Responsible for delivering data warehouse and analytic solutions by ingesting, integrating, and curating data, building analytical solutions, and administering systems
Serve as a functional and content expert of the data warehouse to synthesize raw data into actionable information to be used in analytical solutions
Apply knowledge of relational database skills including advanced SQL knowledge and the ability to create complex queries and stored procedures
Collaborate with the Architecture team in the design and execution of solutions
Ensure new and existing data models and databases are consistent with approved data architecture standards
Provide facilitation, analysis, design, and execution of architecture solutions and ensure solutions are leveraged. Create, document, and communicate the integration approach of all the components of the solution.
Define key solutions and ensure they are managed for consumption by users and across teams. Research, analyze, determine capabilities and propose solution alternatives to address specific business needs and product/service strategies
Maintain knowledge of current trends and development in the field. Actively explore emerging technologies
Independently work with business users to gather and scope requirements and recommend analytical solutions to meet business needs
Evaluate data quality and interpret results in a clear, concise manner
Document all programming changes and design, system modifications and their associated maintenance
Serve as subject matter expert within the department
The Ideal Candidate
Desired Background:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics Software Engineering or related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. English fluency is required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Talents
Previous experience in the realm of data science, which includes data preparation, data analysis, statistical programming skills, and data visualization
Worked with data modeling and orchestration tools
Strong background in relational (SQL), non-relational (NoSQL), and/or object data stores (e.g., Snowflake, MongoDB, S3, HDFS, Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB)
Have a solid understanding of ETL vs ELT processes, data warehouses, and business intelligence tools
Have prior experience clearly communicating about data with stakeholders
Have experience programmatically deploying cloud resources on AWS, Azure, or GCP
Proven success with implementing data quality, data governance, or disaster recovery initiatives
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable working with remote teams
