Job Description

As a ESD Data Expert, you will be responsible for managing, processing, reviewing, and analyzing various datasets related to environmental performance, social impact, and governance practices within our real estate portfolio. You will also work closely with project teams to assess and optimize building data performance, and sustainability metrics for both operational and under-development projects. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting ongoing key developments to inform decision-making processes across teams. 

Responsibilities

 

ESG Data Collection and Management: 

  • Gather, and analyze ESG-related data from various internal and external sources

  • Ensure data accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi etc)

  • Develop and maintain databases storage and retrieval of ESG data, in alignment of new data collection systems as developed by CapitaLand

  • Recommend ways to build data integrity by correcting ESG data-related problems, filtering and cleaning collected data

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify relevant ESG metrics and benchmarks for performance evaluation

 

ESG Data Processing and Reporting: 

  • Interpret trends or patterns by using data sets and statistical methodologies, with a strong focus on energy and carbon accounting (requires technical know-how in life cycle assessment (LCA), net zero energy and net zero carbon developments)

  • Maintain ESG data infrastructure from primary and/or secondary data sources by processing full spectrum of ESG data

  • Develop novel ways to enhance sustainability KPIs and efficiency through data analysis by engaging supply chain stakeholders to expand data system for CLD’s core activities (primarily scope 1, 2 and 3)

  • Enhance programming capabilities within CLD for ESG data reporting so to align to current trends on advanced data analytics, also in collaboration with Temasek

 

Project-Specific Data Analysis: 

  • Evaluate building performance metrics including carbon footprint, energy consumption, water usage, waste management, and other sustainability indicators

  • Conduct analysis to identify opportunities for improving energy and carbon footprint’s efficiency

  • Work closely with project teams to integrate sustainability principles into design, construction, and operation phases of real estate projects to enhance sustainability outcomes

 

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field

  • Proven strong experience in data management, analysis, and visualization, within the real estate or sustainability sector, with more than 8 years of work experience

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools for energy and carbon accounting

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and extract meaningful insights

  • Good knowledge of ESG frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, GRESB, and relevant sustainability reporting standards

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
