Data Engineer

Irvine, CA (Onsite)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Data Engineer to engage in Business Data Analytics Platform development and deployment.  Our Data Engineer will work with different business functions per project requirement, develop and/or deploy the data pipelines, BI reports and other analytics applications under the compliance to industry security practice, and participate or lead specific project.  With their technical skills and knowledge, they contribute to advanced analytics platform development and analytics tool portfolio enhancement. 

In this position, you will also contribute to advanced analytics platform development and analytics tool portfolio enhancement. 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Learn Thales business systems, e.g., SAP; Develop Business Data Analytics Platform, including integrating different cloud resources into the platform as needed; Develop Data Catalog tool along with necessary process and documentation; Develop and support data pipelines; Develop and support Power BI reports.
  • Continually assess processes to protect data under Thales security requirement.
  • Lead development or deployment of data applications in specific projects, e.g., connectivity, supply chain, operations.
  • Assist in implementation of various tools and processes as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Quantitative Analysis, Management Information System, or related field with a minimum of 1-4 + years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, JSON; Experience with PowerBI to develop visualized analytics dashboard; Experience with SAP.
  • Exposure to Cloud environment, e.g., Azure, Data Lake, Databricks.
  • Strong skills in Office 365, especially in Excel, including VBA Macro.

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: Core Business Hours Monday-Friday and will occasionally involve working some Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Physical Environment: Typical office environment.
  • Travel: Very limited travel potentially to other Thales manufacturing sites within the USA, up to 5%.
  • Regulatory Compliance Requirements: None.

What We Offer

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $74,326.00 - $138,034.00 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
