Position: Senior Data Scientist
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Analyze and curate large datasets by querying data using SQL and building the proof of concept for the feasibility of an idea. Design and implement custom Machine Learning models and Deep Learning Neural-Network architecture using state-of-the-art large Language Models in Pytorch to enhance customer and seller experience. Evaluate and improve existing models through hyper-parameter tuning, error analysis, and research of improved architecture. Develop data analysis programs using Python, Pandas, and Scikit-Learn. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and integrate feedback, ensuring the deep learning models are aligned with organizational goals. Assist in productionalizing the models and monitoring model daily performance, enabling them to process millions of Walmart catalog items per day. Develop regular performance tracking strategies and improve these statistical models for better performance. Generate appropriate graphical representations of data and model outcomes using Python and different visualization tools. Engage in large Language Model research and literature survey to capture the best performing model. Work on Natural Language Processing tasks such as text matching, attribute extraction, and named entity recognition. Improve model performance through analysis and optimizing the parameters using Hyperparameter tuning techniques.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field; OR Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field.
Skills required: Experience fetching data from Cloud platforms using SQL, Hive, and Pyspark. Experience building Machine Learning algorithms including Linear Logistic Regression, Tree based classification, Clustering Algorithms, Neural Networks, and Timeseries algorithms. Experience building Deep Learning algorithms including Recurrent Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks, LSTM, and Transformers. Experience building Natural Language Processing (NLP) models, Language Models, Generative Models, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models including BERT, Minimax, and NER using PyTorch, Keras, and Tensorflow. Experience performing Exploratory Data Analysis using SQL, Python, Scikit Learn, and Pandas. Experience deploying Machine Learning Models in production systems that can be run at a large scale. Experience devising Machine learning model monitoring strategies to track the performance of the models. Experience using Data Visualization libraries including Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Pandas. Experience researching and assessing algorithms that are published in literature. Experience driving projects by understanding business requirements and collaborating with teams. Experience improving model performance by using hyper parameter tuning techniques. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $138,911/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
