Oracle offers a comprehensive and fully integrated stack of cloud applications and cloud platform services.The Oracle Health Design and Human Factors (HF) Research teams are embarking on a brand-new mission to completely reimagine the experience of our healthcare applications, from core EHR to the patient experience and everything in between. As a Data Scientist within the HF team, you will have the unique opportunity of identifying and solving complex healthcare problems across the entire continuum of care.
You will help establish a Data Science group that applies scientific rigor to understand what our customers and end users are doing in our products, leveraging empirical research methods to extract meaningful patterns from large data sets, visualizing that information in truly cutting-edge ways that is furthering a whole new level of empathy, and scaling our approaches to the daunting breadth of Oracle Health experiences. This Data Science group is embedded within the larger HF Research team, and will partner closely with the qualitative researchers, enabling an integrated viewpoint of both scale and in-depth understanding of customer behaviors. The outcomes from both qualitative and quantitative research will be used to inform product strategy and design, and validate the quality, safety, and usefulness of our products. In short, we are starting a mini revolution of being data and customer obsessed and looking for someone who is excited to join us!

- You are organized and detail-oriented. You have several years of experience using your quantitative toolkit to facilitate high quality research, applying the right methods to the right problems, and practice these in real business context.
- You are driven by impact. You don’t stop until the insights from research are applied to the benefit of our customers and business.
- You don’t already know everything, and you love to learn from others, new contexts and new challenges.
- You love to collaborate with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, executives, and inspire them to do their best.

What will you do as a Principal Data Scientist at Oracle?
- Dive deep into usage data to understand problem and opportunity areas within Oracle Health experiences.
- Use your deep expertise in data analysis to generate easy-to-understand insights and communicate findings to product stakeholders
- Collaborate with researchers in their effort to tell the user’s story through data and shine a bright light on what works and what doesn’t
- Actively support leadership in the development of company policies and vision
- Collaborate closely with partners in design and product management to learn complex domains, assess needs, ask the right questions, and understand how the analysis could move the business decision-making forward.
- You don’t stop there. You will work with partner teams to ensure the right action is taken to further the cause of your customers and business.
What skills/abilities/background would you ideally possess?
- Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, HCI, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Psychology, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets (especially clickstream data).
- A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
- Strong evidence of supporting, leading, and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Advanced knowledge of a common programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, C++)
- Proven knowledge with sequence analysis
- Extensive experience in user or product analytics (especially in an Enterprise setting)
- Experience in one of the following is a plus: NLU/NLP, Data Visualization, developing and evaluating A/B testing pipelines

CA: Hiring Range in CAD from: $76,700 to $167,600 per annum.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
