Established in 1911, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is the territory’s oldest institute of higher learning and also an internationally recognized, research led, comprehensive university.Full-time Research Assistant I/II in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 530691) (to commence as soon as possible for one year on temporary term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, bioinformatics, computational biology, infectious diseases or related disciplines. Working proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including fluent Cantonese, is necessary. Additionally, they should have good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, along with a strong sense of responsibility. They should be detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a team. Experience in data management and statistical analysis would be an advantage. Quantitative skills and proficiency in statistical or computer modelling software (e.g. R, Python, Stata, C++) are highly preferred.
The appointee will assist on curation and analysis of data from various infectious disease projects for research reports and articles in scientific journals, provide support/advice to colleagues on statistical methodology, maintain REDCap databases for various projects, and perform other duties as assigned.
