Geotab is seeking a Senior Revenue Operations Business Analyst who will spearhead the design, building, and optimization of key dashboards, datasets, and reporting tools. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!

What you'll do:

As a Senior Revenue Operations Business Analyst your key area of responsibility will be to analyze both defined and undefined data sets using a variety of tools to address tangible business needs and uncover meaningful insights. This role will understand how partners and customers can directly benefit from the analysis and develop customer-facing products from these results. This position also plays a critical role in driving data strategy and governance across the organization. You will need to work closely with with data professionals within the Data & Analytics Teams and other Internal Data Engineers/subject matter experts to create key data summaries to be leveraged across the organization. To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results.

How you'll make an impact
  • Lead the development of key sales reports and dashboards from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Analyze large data sets to create summarized reporting sources to be leveraged across the company.
  • Leverage data sets to identify trends, develop charts, and create visual presentations to help business units make more strategic decisions.
  • Utilize statistical tools to interpret data sets and prepare reports and technical papers that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions based on relevant findings.
  • Write complex SQL queries to find answers to intricate business questions.
  • Build and optimize reporting/data dashboards and reports as needed.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues and partialities in data acquisition.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and other internal resources to ensure consistent data pipelines for new and existing data.
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • Employ data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop customer segmentation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship both within the immediate team and across different business units/departments.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for all dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and manage expectations effectively.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific key areas, managing related dashboard requests and providing strategic insights.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance standards and definitions.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data analysis and reporting across the organization.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new tools and methodologies to enhance team capabilities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align data initiatives with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Lead efforts to innovate and improve existing data processes and workflows.
What you'll bring to the role
  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or a similar role.
  • 3-5 years of experience with SQL and data science tools (e.g. Python, Pandas, NumPy).
  • Experience working with big data and an understanding of techniques used to extract value out of very large datasets.
  • Experience working closely with business analysts to arrive at data solutions.
  • Experience with database design and writing queries.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to well-judged decisions.
  • Strategic mindset, with a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
  • Strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
