Compensation includes a base salary of $156,200.00 - $260,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Director of Analytics & Insights will be a team leader and provide oversight for the Inventory Solutions Analytics & Insights team. They will be a strategic contributor engaging key stakeholders to identify, shape and deliver analytics needs within our Inventory Solutions, NextGear Capital (NGC) and Electric Vehicle Battery Solutions (EVBS) omnichannel marketing efforts.

The Director of Analytics & Insights will lead a team of four Analytics & Insight Marketing Managers and partners with Product, Field, Channel and KAM in identifying KPIs as well as measuring marketing campaign performance and effectiveness.

We are seeking a dynamic individual, who will leverage analytical skills to create reporting and analysis with insights and visualization that tells the story within the data and provides actionable recommendations. The Director of Analytics & Insights should also have a collaborative spirit that lends itself to partnering with key stakeholders to create solutions that link campaign goals with business objectives and create winning growth strategies.   

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the marketing analytics and insights function for Cox Automotive, Inventory Solutions, nurturing stakeholder relationships, providing direction to a team of manager level marketing data scientist. 

  • Recruit, mentor and inspire a high-performing team of data scientist fostering culture of collaboration, creativity and continuous learning. 

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders across Cox Communications, including business leaders, product managers, and executives. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements and translate them into actionable insights and data-driven solutions. 

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, presenting complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner. 

  • Develop, implement, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of our channel marketing campaigns, including both organic and paid media, digital, email, SEO, and social media.  

  • Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses to provide insights into client/customer behavior, campaign performance, and ROI.  

  • Lead client/customer segmentation & personalization work streams to enable targeted and personalized marketing strategies.  

  • Implement multi-touch attribution models to understand the contribution of various marketing channel touchpoints in driving conversions and revenue. 

  • Perform pre/post campaign analysis, target list development, quarterly scorecards to lead data-driven decision making  

  • Partner with brand, product, client experience and channel marketing teams to ensure that insights from analytics are integrated into strategy development and execution.  

  • Ensure data quality and integrity by working with enterprise technology and cross functional teams to maintain and improve data sources and tools.  

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging marketing technologies, and best practices to continuously improve analytics and insights methodologies.  

  • Proactively participate in and identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, standardization, and process simplification 

Technology We Use: AWS, SQL Workbench, SAS, Business Objects, Snowflake, Python, Web activity tools such as Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, DOMO, SAP Business Objects, Oracle.

Who You Are/ Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 10 years of business analytical experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 8 years of experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years of experience in a related field; or 14 years’ experience in a related field with no degree.

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role 

  • Intermediate MS Excel skills including functions/pivot tables/formulas/visualization development and plug-ins for other business intelligence platforms 

  • Experience with data Visualization platforms (as a developer), such as Tableau or MicroStrategy 

  • Ability to visually present the insights with a compelling story and action plan 

  • Must be detail-oriented  

  • Strategic thinker and self-starter mentality 

  • Must possess key analytics department core values: adaptability, simplicity, excellence, customer mindset 

Preferred:

  • Degree in Math/Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Market Research or Finance

  • Knowledge of Adobe or/and Google Analytics desired 

  • Knowledge of Snowflake 

  • Knowledge of Datorama or Domo 

  • Digital marketing analytics experience a plus 

  • Advance database & query experience 

  • Ability to use SQL
