BESS Backend Engineer

3E is looking for a new expert to reinforce the innovation team in the development of digital solutions with a focus on storage (BESS) applications for utility-scale implementation.

As a storage developer in the innovation department, you will support our team by:

• contributing to the development of our physics-based and AI-powered storage analytics
• actively following up the state-of-the-art to continuously improve our state-of-the-art digital twin model for assets flexibility and storage applications
• bringing the R&D results to real-life implementation through programming, analyse data, and developing models to optimize storage performance and operation
• managing and contributing to the execution and acquisition of R&D projects, funded at European, national, or regional levels;
• providing support to solution owners to define the R&D strategy, in line with our internal roadmap

Requirements

You are an open-minded and proactive team player with good communication skills who enjoys challenges and growing an innovative product to the next level.

Our ideal candidate must have:

• A master's degree in Engineering, physics or similar
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in advanced analytics [Physics-based modelling/ Machine learning/ Blackbox]
• An innovative mindset with strong innovation skills, finding the right balance between state-of-art, reliability and cost-efficiency
• Knowledge of Battery assets and Flexibility in power grids.
• Proficiency in Python and data science stack
  

Bonus points for:

• Experience with innovation-oriented programming and data science
• Software development skills such as Object Oriented programming and use of Git
• Knowledge of battery market integration in ancillary services
• Spanish, French or Dutch proficiency
