You will be joining a team of 10 people who have different engineering backgrounds such as HW and SW. Our mission is to build the most innovative hearing solutions in the industry using state of the art technologies.
Create the future
In your new role you will participate in developing the hearing aid solutions of the future. You will work with emerging technologies, ideas and concepts that have the potential to significantly impact the hearing healthcare industry. You will work within your own area of expertise but also look across the technology area and see how the technologies can fit together. You will transform these insights into product innovations that will provide radical value to our customers & users.
You will join us as developer in our Discovery team, a part of R&D in the Hearing Instrument Group. Here, you will develop new products and features in cross functional innovation projects involving participants from all over R&D as well as Sales & Marketing, Operations, Quality, and our sister companies.

Your main responsibilities will be:
- Scouting and assessing emerging technologies and their relevance for the future of hearing healthcare, particularly within the focus of Generative AI, General AI, and Machine Learning.
- Building, releasing, and testing applications on various platforms.
- Participate in bringing forward the best ideas for the future hearing solutions
- Participate in Discovery projects, where we will build concepts & prototypes of hearing aid solutions of the future
- Evaluate new ideas and product concepts technically, by building rapid prototypes and testing these in collaboration with other engineering profiles
- Collaborating with a network of external partners including vendors, technology partners, audiologists, and end-users
- Collaborate with R&D to transfer knowledge from Discovery projects into Roadmap projects
There will be up to 5-10 travel days a year.

We expect you to hold a relevant degree including the relevant disciplines of the job.
Your qualifications:
- Strong expertise in generative AI and machine learning, with hands-on experience using tools like:
- TensorFlow and PyTorch
- OpenAI API (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL-E)
- Hugging Face Transformers
- Google Vertex AI and Microsoft Azure AI
- Proficiency in desktop, app and/or cloud development, with experience in programming languages and frameworks such as:
- C# (e.g., Xamarin, .NET MAUI)
- Swift (iOS development)
- Kotlin (Android development)
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with diverse engineering competencies.
- A passion for exploring and developing new ideas with an innovative mindset.
- Good communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with audio signal processing and hearing technologies.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies in a research and development environment.
- Experience with Matlab
You probably have an educational background in Software Engineering. Maybe your education has had an AI and Machine Learning aspect as well. Having worked for some years in the industry will be an advantage in this position.
You have good knowledge and interest in emerging technologies, preferably in hearing healthcare, medical sector, audio, and consumer electronics. More than that – you also bring along a good understanding of the development of technological solutions. Your key competency is within AI and Machine Learning, but maybe you also have experience within sensor technology, Health Technology, DSP and Acoustics. You understand how these different engineering disciplines work together to define the optimal solution.
