General Objective: The role will be responsible for overseeing our data systems and reporting frameworks, guaranteeing the integrity and precision of data. The ideal candidate will transform raw data into structured information, which will then be analysed to glean insights that drive strategic decision making in business.

Reporting: This role reports to the Head of Sales Operations & Business Planning

Principal Accountabilities:

a) Data Quality and Integrity

• Ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and reliable throughout its lifecycle, which is critical for making valid and trustworthy decisions

• Cleanse data and scrutinize computer-generated reports and outputs to identify and rectify coding errors

b) Collecting Data from Various Source

• Gather data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and third-party sources and ensure the upkeep of databases and data systems.

c) Developing and Supporting Reporting Processes

• Create and maintain processes to generate accurate and timely reports that help stakeholders understand and act on key data insights
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements

d) Developing Automated Processes for Data Scraping

• Design scripts and tools to automatically extract large volumes of from different sources for improving efficiency and availability.

e) Interpret Data

• Detect, examine, and decode trends or patterns within intricate datasets
• Employ statistical techniques to scrutinize data and produce actionable business insights
• Your analysis will help extract meaningful insights and trends, which can then inform business decisions and strategies
• Develop data dashboards, charts, and visual aids to support decision-making across departments

f) Performs Complex Analyses

• Conduct in-depth data analysis using advanced statistical methods and tools to uncover patterns, correlations, and insights

g) Maintaining Databases

• You will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing and updating databases to ensure they are secure, accessible, and functioning properly. Your role is crucial in supporting ongoing data storage and retrieval needs.

f) Collaboration

• Coordinate data needs cross functionally to align business and informational priorities

Qualification & Experience required:

Education requirements: Minimum B plain KCSE; A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, Statistics, or any other related discipline

Work Experience: at least Two (2) year experience in any industry (FMCG will be an added advantage)

Technical Skills: Possess a solid foundation in statistics and practical experience with visualization tools e.g. Power BI, Tableau etc. and data analysis languages including SQL, Python, and R.

• Exhibit exceptional analytical abilities to compile, structure, examine, and present substantial data sets with precision and thoroughness. 
• Capable of critically evaluating data to derive meaningful, actionable insights.
• Demonstrate superior communication and presentation capabilities, adept at simplifying complex data insights for audiences without a technical background
