Data Engineering - Associate - Global Banking & Markets

About the Job

Franchise Data Engineering BI is part of the broader Data Modeling & Data Analytics group supporting Franchise Sales & Trading Operations. The team is focused on building strategic consumer data models and analytical solutions, that will help the firm develop efficient workflows, improve client service and minimize risk in the post-trade flow. We support ESSO, FAMO, PRIME and CEXP verticals.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Associate Role (3-5 years of experience) involves dynamically collaborating across business and engineering teams, translating business problems into detailed data specifications and then designing, building and deploying scalable relational data models which would serve as the golden source of data for business users for analytical use cases. The role requires end-to-end skills in data engineering, ETL, data modeling, math/logic, visualization and a good grasp SDLC best practices. It requires to establish data lineage across multiple source systems across the trade life cycles.

Basic Qualifications

• Academic Qualifications: Graduate in Engineering, Statistics, Math or Data Analytics
• Analytical, self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills 
• Good networking, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in working with relational data bases & SQL
• Experienced in working with data visualization tools
• Has a good understanding of OLTP & OLAP structures

Preferred Qualifications

• Has an engineering or any quantitative background
• Hand-on experience with data engineering & BI – worked end to end (modelling – ETL – Analytics)
• Experience in building consumer models/refiners with LEGEND Studio (Alloy Studio)
• Technical Expertise in SQL, Alteryx, Tableau & Python
