About the role 
We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Scientist with a strong background in predictive modeling, anomaly detection and time series analysis. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in developing advanced Machine Learning (ML) models for anomaly detection and predictive maintenance in production lines for manufacturing industries. You will leverage your expertise in time series analysis, predictive modeling, and performance evaluation to ensure the reliability and optimization of manufacturing processes.  
About the team
The SQL, Python, Oracle, AWS, and Azure-certified members of our Data Center of Excellence (DCoE) team primarily work on enterprise-scale projects, including AI and ML solutions across various industries and applications. Involved in all stages of processing, migrating, and preparing data from/to public cloud providers, the team applies expert skills in data architecture, big data management, business intelligence, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data automation, and database optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement ML models for anomaly detection and predictive maintenance in production lines, using techniques such as time series analysis and predictive modeling
  • Apply and optimize various predictive modeling techniques to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and refine models to achieve desired accuracy and reliability  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineers, Production Managers, and IT professionals, to integrate ML solutions into the production environment
  • Utilize popular ML libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch and TensorFlow, as well as programming languages like Python to build and deploy models
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by working closely with data engineers to gather, clean, and preprocess production data
  • Document solutions, findings, performance evaluation results, and best practices for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Proven experience (7+ years) as a Data Scientist, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong proficiency in ML algorithms for time series analysis and predictive modeling
  • Expertise in Python programming and familiarity with popular ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch
  • Solid understanding of anomaly detection techniques and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Experience with performance evaluation metrics and model refinement / fine-tuning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment

A significant advantage would be

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
