As a data analyst, your primary responsibilities are becoming an expert advisor to our business on our data model and how to use it, monitoring, triaging, and fixing data issues to improve data quality. You will also support data quality initiatives, maintain data models, develop reports and dashboards, and participate in data governance discussions. You will help establish and maintain standard data practices and governance. You must communicate clearly and effectively with team members and stakeholders across different departments. You must be able to identify and explain the root causes of data issues, document triaging steps, explain how to fix problems, and support the Architect/Engineering and Business Analytics team by recommending solutions or ways to mitigate data issues. This role is crucial to ensure the organization has accurate, high-quality data to help drive business analytics and insights reporting, data-driven business decisions, and AI initiatives.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to describe and report issues in non-technical language.
- Proficient in understanding and triaging complex software ecosystems.
- Ability to translate technical details into the language of our business.
- Ability to work collaboratively effectively with teams across the organization globally.
- Ability to independently manage tasks and deliver data-driven results.
- Ability to lead discussions that bridge technical concepts with business requirements.
- Proficient in documenting processes and writing requirements.
- Proficient knowledge of databases, SQL query language, Salesforce, and APIs.
- Proficient knowledge in manipulating data and updating data in databases.
Daily Activities:
- Monitor, triage, report, and fix issues that cause data issues in all systems, including the database and data warehouse.
- Work on resolving data quality issues by developing immediate solutions and long-term strategies with the Architecture/Engineering team.
- Create and fix data in development and QA environments to help developers and QA resources.
- Build, maintain, and enhance reports and dashboards for tracking KPIs and detecting data quality issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to help them refine and mature their data workflow, practices, and procedures.
- Collaborate with data stakeholders to help define and document data and integration requirements to provide to the Architecture/Engineering team.
- Collaborate with the Analytics and Product teams to provide curated datasets, create reports, and support the development of data services.
- Participate in data governance activities, including maintaining the data dictionary and business glossary and documenting data lineage.
- Help clean and improve data quality for AI initiatives.
Technical Skills and Responsibilities:
- Years of experience preferred: 3 – 5 years
- Master our data set as a subject matter expert and collaborate with stakeholders to uncover insights and amplify the value within the data.
- Advanced skills in SQL and data querying (including writing advanced select statements, stored procedures, and functions).
- Ability to work with databases, transactional data, and data warehouses (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, or a similar technology).
- Experience in building and maintaining reports and dashboards using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Able to understand, create, and manipulate XML, JSON, CSV, and MS Excel files.
- Familiarity with ETL and API concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies and optimize queries for performance.
- Experience with reporting technologies and tools for data blending or integration.
- Familiarity with data governance concepts, including managing data quality, accuracy, and integrity.
- Experience working with mid to high data volumes.

Compensation
Expected Salary: $120,000*
Target Incentive bonus: 10%
*Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and location.
