The role is responsible for contributing independently towards the interpretation and analysis of data, providing actionable insights to enhance decision-making and improve operational efficiency across business units, namely,  Refinery & ADT, Marketing, EPS/IST, and Corporate. 

#ACCOUNTABILITIESACTIVITIES1Analytical Reporting
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive dashboards and recurring reports that monitor and highlight operational performance metrics across business units
  • Automating the generation of reports to provide real-time analytics for prompt decision-making
2Data Collection and Management
  • Systematically collecting data from various operational systems, ensuring that datasets are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Managing databases and data tools, ensuring data integrity, and performing regular audits to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
3Market & Operational Analysis
  • Conducting detailed operational analysis to identify trends that impact refinery output, marketing strategies, EPS/IST transactions, and corporate initiatives.
  • Applying quantitative techniques to analyze and interpret data, identifying patterns that can lead to cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
4Stakeholder Communication
  • Preparing and presenting analytical findings in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at various levels, including technical staff, management, and executive leadership. 
  • Creating visualizations and written reports to communicate complex data findings in a manner that enables decision making. 
5Support Decision Making Processes
  • Providing data support and insights for strategic business initiatives, such as expansion of retail outlets or investments in new technologies
  • Assisting in the evaluation of business cases by providing relevant data and analytical support
6Process Improvement
  • Identifying and highlighting inefficiencies in existing data processes and recommending improvements
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven process enhancements
7Collaborative Analytics Projects
  • Participating in collaborative projects with other COE team members, such as Data Scientists and Data Engineers, to support larger analytics initiatives
  • Sharing best practices and insights with peers to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Keeping abreast of the latest developments in data analytics tools, techniques, and best practices relevant to the oil and gas industry

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications in analytics or business intelligence tools preferred

Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant analytics experience in Oil & Gas downstream organization preferred
