JOB PURPOSE:
The Center for Applied Data Science and Analytics (CADSA) will coordinate and facilitate interdisciplinary programs in data science and data analytics; collaborate with other institutes and centers on the campus; expand and coordinate research funding; and develop research and educational linkages that will include internship and placement programs with sponsoring corporations and government agencies.
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
Responsible for making recommendations in the areas of compensation, staff selection, disciplinary actions, complaints, staff performance appraisal and similar supervisory duties. Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of subordinates for effective operation and results of the unit.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Internal contacts include Cabinet members, institution officials, and administrators, faculty, and staff of the institution at large. External contacts may include governmental agencies, private sector partners, vendors, consultants and the general public.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develops and implements policies, operational procedures, and organizational structures and establishes quality control standards/procedures that will improve timeliness and quality of service to campus and Hospital end users
- Organizes department functions and assigns and aligns staff responsibilities to meet unit goals and to achieve a high level of end user satisfaction
- Implements and monitors present and future policies approved by the University
- Formulates and recommends new policies and changes in existing policies
- Translates the objectives and goals of the University and School into a measurable plan of action and leads the implementation of new initiatives
- Oversees public relations including publication of newsletter and other media products
- Serves as the primary interface to external constituencies in the establishment of partnerships that advance mutual objectives
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Significant experience in developing superior relationships with key stakeholders and demonstrated ability to articulate the Center’s priorities, objectives and mission.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, tact, and a willingness to take initiative.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. (Doctoral degree in relevant field preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience leading and managing a team.
- Demonstrated evidence of fundraising through philanthropy, grants and other gifts.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and bring together a team in pursuit of common, measurable goals.
- Proven success in managing multiple, complex, high-profile projects. Demonstrated success performing and leading in a high growth/startup environment.
- Experience developing systems and processes in support of implementing a high-level vision.
- Experience successfully navigating and building partnerships across large, complex organizations.
- Familiarity with conducting and managing faculty and student research.
- Willingness to provide and receive direct, constructive feedback.
- Passion for working with students and faculty.
Compliance Salary Range Disclosure
Expected Pay Range: $227,272 - $250,000
