About The Role SmartThings is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the Product Operations team. In this role, you will ​have the opportunity to deliver considerable impact to the business and global customer experience in a short amount of time by leveraging your analytics expertise to support critical user understanding and KPI tracking initiatives. 
In this role, you will dive into key projects to support some of SmartThings’ most important initiatives. You’ll be able to make an impact on day one by pairing a deep understanding of SQL and Superset with communication skills and an ability to present data visually and verbally. In the process, you’ll play an important role on a team that loves to geek out about data, and you’ll have the opportunity to explore the exciting world of IoT in the process.

Key Responsibilities

This position is a hybrid role, based onsite 3 days a week at our office in Minneapolis, MN. 

In this role, the key deliverables will include the following: 

1. Build new SmartThings Business Dashboards

• Contribute data analytics expertise to refine specifications for new business dashboards for SmartThings’ key areas
• Build and maintain new dashboards
• Provide instructions for owners to continuously update.

2. Provide critical data insights and learning libraries for Product management

• Collaborate with key Product leaders to up-level our product data capabilities in critical areas
• Make new data available, provide repeatable documentation for Product Managers to replicate and build on your work, and accelerate time to insights by identifying and documenting gaps

3. Deliver a final presentation to Product and Engineering leadership

• Cap off your engagement with a presentation demonstrating your key deliverables and recommendations

What You Bring On Day One (Required Qualifications) 

• Strong analytical and quantitative background with at least 4+ years professional experience, preferably with meaningful experience in product analytics
• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business or a related field
• Proficiency with data analysis (SQL), analytics tools (e.g., Superset), and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
• Strong oral and written communication
• Critical thinking and ability to effectively navigate ambiguity
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders

SmartThings Benefits

Contract rate for this position is $70/hr. Contract length is 3 months with possible extensions.
