LCCI Business Insights & Analytics – Associate Director, Global HCP and Health System Analytics

The BI&A (Business Insights & Analytics) team was established to support business decisions for commercial and marketing functions globally. The team has ~ 200 team members located out of the Bangalore office (LCCI) possessing diverse backgrounds and skills in data engineering, analytics, data sciences, business, and commercial operations.

One of the key sub-functions under BI&A is HCP (health care practitioner) and Health System Analytics. This team is responsible for enabling analytics insights for our HCP, HCO, and Payer/VBA business partners. We are currently seeking a leader to manage this team, ensuring that the analytics engagement model effectively supports business-facing teams in making data-driven decisions.

The Associate Director will lead a dynamic team of approximately 40 analytics professionals, whose primary goal is to help our business partners achieve their objectives through data analytics enablement. As the single point of contact for HCP and HHS analytics delivery in LCCI, this role focuses on specific Business Units or Cross BU level analytics needs. The analytics leader will ensure that business decisions are backed by data-driven insights and recommendations from analytics.

In this leadership role, the Associate Director will develop execution plans for prioritized analytics workstreams in collaboration with teammates in the US. They will work closely with product and BU analytics teams to ensure the team is delivering high-quality analytics results at scale.

To achieve this, the incumbent will:

  • Partner with the HCP and HHS Analytics leaders and take ownership of the quality and effectiveness of analyses,
  • Structure and refine current delivery by building a strong process-focused culture,
  • Plan and build capabilities to meet strategic business needs, and
  • Facilitate a transformation to operating with more of a product mindset to build solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Overall accountability of work delivered by the team ensuring highest standards of quality and timeliness in an evolving business environment
  • Collaborate with other analytics teams, technology teams and other business facing teams to prioritize work and facilitate usage of analytics products and enable smooth operations of cross-functional programs
  • Play an active role in defining and standardizing frameworks and processes for project management and execution to ensure efficiency and optimal utilization of resources

People Leadership:

  • Mentor a team of project leads and individual contributors to help define and achieve ambitious goals and play an active role in their career development
  • Serve as trusted career advisor, and work with functional leadership and HR to identify career opportunities for these team members, both systemically (career path development) and with individuals as needed
  • Develop a pipeline of analytics talent and leadership, and contribute to an inclusive community of analytics expert practitioners

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide leadership to technical and technology focused teams to assist with solution design and help remove barriers the teams may be facing
  • Strong prior experience working with pharma datasets such as patient longitudinal prescription data, activity data, payer and affiliation data, diagnostics data etc.
  • Experience working on different types of analytics projects including patient journey analytics, dynamic targeting, segmentation, data driven market landscape assessment, launch tracking is strongly preferred
  • Prior hands-on experience working with large datasets (SQL, Python etc.) and required; working knowledge of cloud technology, data visualization tools and AI/ML techniques preferred
  • Drive team to adopt best in class practices as it relates to data and analytics products
  • Identify external perspectives, future opportunities and business needs and expand capabilities within the group

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in an analytical function (BI, data analytics, forecasting etc) supporting Pharma/Lifesciences Commercial ops internally or in consulting
  • 6+ years of experience managing teams and experience of managing teams of teams will be highly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, coupled with business acumen, and an ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment
  • Substantial analytics experience and understanding of the US pharma business along with intimate understanding of pharma data sets required
  • Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver and delivering complex cross functional projects
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate advanced analytics concepts to a variety of business stakeholders
  • Excellent prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative solutions to challenging situations

Education

  • Quantitative background in engineering, statistics, mathematics; OR degree in management/ pharmaceutical or a related field from a premium college is preferred but not mandatory
  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus
