About The Role

Humane’s Computer Vision Team is responsible for key technologies enabling our new class of mobile device and services. We work with Software Engineering teams to create groundbreaking new experiences and are at the center of Humane’s push toward the next shift between humans and computing. Our work spans on-device models and algorithms tuned for size to massive scale distributed cloud systems. We value creative thinking, deep understanding, resourceful use of existing technologies, and a drive to ship something new and unique.

2024 Internship Program Dates: May/June-August/September 2025. Final dates based on student schedule.

What You Might Do

  • Work with a team to design, develop and test robust and reliable CV/ML pipelines.
  • Work with device and cloud service engineers to enable new ways of interacting with technology.
  • Define and execute massive scale model training and validation workflows.

Essential Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree of PHD in an engineering discipline, preferably Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working with C++ 
  • Familiarity with Computer Vision / Machine Learning

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with Python
  • Strong programming, debugging, and design skills
  • Experience with CV or Deep Learning frameworks that include OpenCV, Pytorch, TensorFlow
  • Strong foundation in 3D geometry, linear algebra, kinematics, and optimization
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: sensor calibration, computer vision system design, digital image processing, or computer graphics
  • Ability to drive tasks independently and to escalate and clearly communicate issues and needs

Salary range: $48 - $51/per hour
