We're seeking an experienced team member to join our Data Engineering team as a Senior Data Engineer.

At Veriff, we generate and consume vast amounts of data to drive essential business decisions at all levels. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in maximizing the potential of this data by designing and building scalable, efficient pipelines and data models. These efforts will empower analysts, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and other stakeholders to gain valuable insights. You’ll have the opportunity to work with large, complex data sets and help define our analytics engineering processes and standards, contributing to the development of a modern, scalable data platform.

You’ll help us protect honest people online by:
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to design, document, and implement robust, scalable data models that accurately reflect complex business processes.
  • Building and optimizing data pipelines to transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Fine-tuning query performance and ensuring efficient use of our data warehouse infrastructure.
  • Ensuring data reliability, accuracy, and quality through rigorous testing, monitoring, and adherence to standards.
  • Assisting in the migration from batch processing systems to real-time streaming systems with minimal disruptions (planned for the near future).
  • Expanding support for various use cases, including business intelligence, data science, machine learning, and client-facing analytics.
  • Handling sensitive data with the utmost care and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have:
  • Expert-level knowledge of SQL (our current stack uses Redshift).
  • Strong experience with data modeling, including a deep understanding of dimensional data modeling best practices.
  • Proficiency in data transformation frameworks such as dbt.
  • Solid programming skills in languages commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python or R).
  • Familiarity with orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow or Luigi.
  • Experience working with data from diverse sources (e.g., RDBMS, APIs, files) in various formats (e.g., JSON, Avro, Parquet).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear, understandable insights for stakeholders.
You’re an especially awesome match if you have:
  • Experience with streaming technologies (e.g., Kinesis) and processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Flink or Spark).
  • Knowledge of on-demand query tools like Athena.
  • Familiarity with building secure, compliant systems for handling sensitive data.
