As we scale, we are now looking for a Data Engineer to be part of our journey to transform the financial landscape for entrepreneurs.

About the role

This is a role where you will be playing a significant role in designing, implementing, iterating, and improving the data lake and data warehouse in our company. Your daily responsibilities will include the data preparation for different consumers, including Data Scientists, Software Engineers and Business & Data Analysts, and help them find the data they need. Nowadays, our technical stack consists of Python, AWS, Redshift, Postgres, Java and node.js.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize efficient data pipelines for seamless integration and processing across diverse data sources

  • Oversee and manage data warehouses and lakes to ensure reliable storage, processing, and accessibility

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to transform business objectives into analytics-ready data models using tools like dbt

  • Implement comprehensive testing frameworks, maintain high data quality standards, and ensure security-compliant metadata with clear data lineage and catalog systems for effective governance

  • Strengthen infrastructure using IaC tools like CDK and CloudFormation

Requirements

  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, building and orchestrating data pipelines, pref aws glue, aws lambda and aws step functions

  • Fluent in Python, SQL and/or other relevant languages

  • Experience with relational database, schema design and dimensional data modeling

  • Solid knowledge of cloud based platforms, preferably AWS

  • Hands-on experience with big data storage concepts such as Redshift, Snowflake or Big Query

  • Understanding of data platform architecture and concepts, including data ingestion, data lakes, and data lakehouses


Experiences that make you stand out from the rest:

  • Experience with event-driven architecture in the cloud

  • Experience in working with git/version control and in a ci/cd environment

  • Big plus if you have some experience with machine learning projects and building data science infrastructure

  • Understanding of microservices and APIs

  • Prior experience in the financial industry is an advantage

  • Experience with tools for Data Governance, such as DataHub or OpenMetaData
