The opportunity

This opportunity is within our Data & Analytics team and focuses on advancing our data engineering capabilities. As an Associate Director, you will focus on engineering next-generation data solutions to support the data-driven transformations of our clients and partners. You will lead and mentor a team of junior-senior data engineers, fostering their development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. In addition, you will serve as a strategic advisor on key topics such as data products, migrations, and platforms, helping clients navigate complex challenges and achieve their strategic goals.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead and manage data engineering projects, providing strategic direction and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Oversee the execution of data engineering projects & products, ensuring high-quality & timely delivery and regulatory compliance.
• Review design, code, test plans, and dataset implementations performed by other data engineers.
• Design and deliver scalable data platforms that support clients’ data-driven transformations.
• Develop and ensure adoption of methodologies, tech accelerators, best practices, and quality standards
• Communicate and publish thoughtware based on relevant trends and developments to position yourself as a proven data engineering expert.
• Oversee and actively lead the hiring of critical data engineering talent.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering their professional growth and success.
• Create and foster an environment that values and promotes autonomy, skill mastery, empowerment, transparency, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Act as a strategic advisor while building and maintaining relationships with key business stakeholders.
• Participate in sales and business development activities, identifying new opportunities and expanding our client base.

Requirements

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Approximately 8+ years of related work experience in Data Engineering, with relevant Data Engineering certificates.
• Experience in cloud platforms like Azure and tools like Databricks & Terraform.
• Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and related dev processes.
• Experience with workflow scheduling/orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Experience in building cloud-scalable, real-time, and high-performance data solutions.
• Strong understanding of developing complex data solutions, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proven experience leading and managing teams through all project phases, including requirements definition, business re-engineering, and application mapping.
• Expertise in at least one or two domains such as Government, Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, or Telecom.
• A track record with a consulting firm is highly desirable.
