The Data Platform Tribe within Technology Services / Data & Functions provides Danske Bank with centralized Data Warehouse, enterprise reporting, and analytics services across multiple banking domains.

Our Cloud Data Platform Squad focuses on:

  • Designing and configuring AWS environments to support essential services and infrastructure for our robust data platform.
  • Developing and deploying data pipelines and architectures within Databricks, which integrate with AWS services.
  • Ensuring comprehensive data integration from diverse sources while maintaining the utmost data integrity and security.
  • Utilizing Azure DevOps for version control, build processes, and deploying updates to the data platform, enabling continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Ensuring data is securely integrated from various sources into the platform, utilizing encryption and compliance measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Monitoring and optimizing the platform’s performance using AWS monitoring tools and custom metrics within Azure DevOps to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.

Role of the Chapter Lead: As a Chapter Lead, you will partner closely with the Product Owner in a “2 in a box” model, ensuring the squad operates efficiently using agile methodologies. You will be responsible for guiding the implementation strategies—the “how” of task execution. Your pivotal role will focus on transforming our current federated data platform into a new, event-driven solution, enhancing both on-premises and cloud integrations as part of our F28 Strategy. As a Chapter Lead, you are an innovative and experienced leader, blending deep domain expertise with a passion for coaching and developing others. You serve as a “player & coach,” spending approximately 50% of your time managing your Chapter, and the remaining 50% as a doer in a Squad delivering value by completing work.

You will:

  • Act as the HR manager for a team of skilled software engineers, responsible for their professional and personal development, including performance reviews, training, and recruitment
  • Manage and develop the Data Platform team
  • Plan and implement a public cloud-based data platform using technologies such as AWS
  • Ensure integration with existing systems and data sources
  • Monitor and optimize the platform’s performance and security
  • Collaborate with other teams to understand their technical requirements and ensure that the platform meets these needs

About you:

  • Solid technical background with a solid understanding of building and maintaining cloud-based data solutions required; proficiency in AWS is highly advantageous, though we are also open to candidates who are eager to deepen their technical expertise in this area
  • Experience in leading technical projects and teams
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, data storage technologies, and ETL processes
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
  • High communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse and changing environment
  • Advanced English language skills

Please be informed that if the position will be hired in Lithuania, the monthly salary range will be from 5200 EUR to 7800 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
