Overview MUFG Retirement Solutions, we recognise the critical importance of data governance and interoperability in ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of our data assets. As the Senior Data Governance and Interoperability Manager, your role is to lead the application and implementation of the data governance frameworks and standards set by MUFG RS and ensure the appropriate standards and compliance frameworks are in place that will enable seamless data exchange and integration across our organisation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices, and procedures for data governance, compliance, and interoperability, ensuring that our data assets are effectively managed and utilised to support business objectives and deliver value to our clients. In this role, you have the opportunity to lead data-driven transformative initiatives that shape the future of retirement planning and drive positive outcomes for our clients and our business.
  Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

Strategic:

  • Define and communicate the strategic vision and roadmap for interoperability initiatives, aligning with Data Governance Policies and Frameworks, business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Establish clear goals, objectives, and success metrics for data governance and interoperability efforts, and monitor progress towards achieving them.
Operational Management:
  • Collaborate internally with clients and partners to define and implement interoperability standards and protocols for data exchange and integration across systems and platforms, ensuring compliance to MUFG RS Data Governance policies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data interoperability, such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and HIPAA, as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with MUFG RS standards, procedures and frameworks, collaborating with Technical Risk & Compliance lead to ensure all policies are comprehensive, up to date and are implemented across the business.
  • Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability roles and responsibilities across the organisation, supporting data owners and stewards with their new responsibilities and work with other Data Governance teams to establish processes for data classification, metadata management, and lineage tracking.
  • Working with Data Domain Owners, establish data quality standards and metrics to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of our data assets, and implement processes for ongoing monitoring and improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and educational materials to promote awareness and understanding of data governance and interoperability principles, processes, and best practices across the organization.
  • Participate in client initiatives such as data governance workshops, councils and working groups, communicating your strategy for the implementation of Data Governance and Interoperability across the MUFG RS ecosystem.
  • Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of data governance and interoperability standards and practices and foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability.
Governance & Risk:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of our data assets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data governance, privacy, and security within the jurisdictions in which MUFG Retirement Solutions operates.

  Experience & Personal Attributes Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field; Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Significant experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, with a focus on developing and implementing data governance frameworks and standards.
  • Deep understanding of data governance principles, practices, and methodologies, as well as regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data privacy, security, and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Preferred
  • Experience in the retirement planning or superannuation industry, with a strong understanding of data management and governance challenges and opportunities in financial services.
  • Knowledge of interoperability standards and protocols for healthcare and financial data exchange, such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and SWIFT.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies, such as Alation, Informatica, or IBM InfoSphere.
  • Certification in data governance or related disciplines, such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or CIMP (Certified Information Management Professional).
  • Knowledge of Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK)
