Background: Virdx - the virtual diagnostics unit of QuantCo - is making non-invasive, dignified, and actionable tissue characterization for cancer detection and treatment a reality. Starting with prostate cancer - the most frequent and second most deadly cancer in men in the USA - Virdx is changing the paradigm for medical artificial intelligence. Virdx intends to replace the biopsy procedure with an imaging-based alternative that is free of side effects: An in vivo microscope for virtual biopsy procedures. In doing so, Virdx is solving a broad range of high-profile challenges in the fields of magnetic resonance physics, machine learning, and software engineering.
Help us change medicine: Virdx aims to deliver fundamental changes to the way cancer is assessed. In its R&D effort, Virdx builds upon the principle of “novel data for novel algorithms.” This means that Virdx is optimizing MRI protocols, with a particular emphasis on diffusion imaging, to power algorithms that can fully replace physical biopsies. Your role: As a deep learning medical imaging intern in Virdx, you will work with the team on a range of varied and ongoing medical imaging projects. You will apply your expertise to push the boundaries on performance in tasks such as registration, denoising, segmentation, and 3D scene reconstruction.

Core Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PostDoc, or MSc) in computer science, computer vision, medical imaging, or related field
  • Experience developing deep learning methods for medical imaging data
  • Experience working with MRI, CT, Ultrasound, or other relevant medical imaging data types
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks (i.e. PyTorch)
What We OfferYou will be part of a smart, supportive, and diverse team that embraces different viewpoints and ideas, revels in finding novel solutions to challenging problems, values our clients and user base, and strives to deliver impactful and cutting-edge solutions. You will learn from and collaborate with highly skilled colleagues, former academic researchers, competitive programmers, and pioneers of groundbreaking products from companies like Google, Meta, Tesla, and Amazon.
