Lead Azure Data Engineer

United States - Remote

Role: Lead Azure Data Engineer 
Location: Remote is OK, but candidates local to Chicago IL is preferred.

Applicant must be physically based in US. 

Travel: There MAY BE occasional travel to client office in Chicago, IL may be needed, no more than 1x per month or even less. 

Interview Process: atleast 2 rounds of video interviews

Must Have Skills: 
  • Ideally 12-15+ years of experience with good experience with Data Integration and Data Engineering Maturity principles
  • Expertise in Azure SQL, ADF and Databricks
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and GraphQL to perform ETL and SSIS jobs
  • Proven ability to develop high-performing queries, optimize database schemas, and conduct data-driven unit tests to validate SQL

Requirements provided:
  • Design and Implementation: Utilize expertise in Azure SQL, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and GraphQL to design, develop, and maintain backend data solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • DevOps Mindset: Emphasize high-quality, clean code practices with a DevOps approach, including logging, alerting, monitoring, and fostering an innovative culture
  • Agile Collaboration: Engage in agile processes for product backlog grooming, sprint planning, and active contribution to coding best practices, reviews, and test validations
  • Performance Tuning: Develop high-performing queries, efficient DB schemas, and perform data-driven unit tests to validate SQL, ensuring optimized backend systems
  • Cloud Deployment: Demonstrate proven experience with deploying production services in Azure, including functions like Azure Functions, Service Bus, and GraphQL, while managing source control with Git
