WHAT DOES A DATA MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST DO?)

Augment a well-established team as a Data Management Specialist. This is a collaborative team environment that entails frequent interaction with customers. This is a fast-paced team so a willingness to take on challenges to creatively solve customer requirement problems will be required. The successful candidate for Data Management Specialist will be self-motivated and will support new development work as well as sustainment activities.

The Data Management Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and updating repositories of documentation generated by multiple participants in SharePoint and similar multi-project acquisition programs. The Data Management Specialist will design, maintain, and enhance the taxonomy by which this material is organized and ensure that this material is readily accessible.

WOULD YOU BE A GREAT DATA MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST?

To be successful in this role, the Data Management Specialist will need to have experience with implementing document management processes and software applications using industry best practices. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of how to create, implement, and maintain data file structures and have experience troubleshooting and resolving DM application error messages and user issues.

The Data Management Specialist will need to have a clear understanding of the DoD 5000 acquisition process, C4ISR/DoDAF documentation requirements and government record keeping and archiving processes.

Requirements

• ACTIVE TS//SCI WITH POLY REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION
• Bachelor's degree in information systems with a concentration in database administration or data management.
• Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in data management is required
• In lieu of the Bachelor's degree, three (3) additional years of related experience can be substituted, for a total of ten (10) years.
• Utilize available automated data management tools to support Data Management (DM) activities
• Establish and maintain the Data Management (DM) Plan and DM structure for the program and coordinate deliverable and non-deliverable documentation schedules with the PM
• Review DM schedules and budgets with the PM and report DM status, results, and metrics.
• Assist in the implementation of database maintenance and security procedures including adding and removing users
• Assist in documenting new and existing systems and procedures
• Assist in the implementation of operating methods to improve processing, distribution, data flow, collection and database editing procedures
• Troubleshoot problems concerning records and communicate this information to users
• Ability to organize data through various methods, sharing of communication links to users, and creating availability of user-friendly options
