Job Overview
The Head of Data Engineering & Platform will lead globally distributed team of data professionals, architects, engineers, and tech solutions leaders to design, build, and scale global data assets and platforms that support the TE digital transformation initiatives, analytics, and AI. This role is pivotal in driving innovation through data management, governance, advanced analytics, and data acquisition while ensuring seamless collaboration across all business functions and business segments.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of leading large-scale data engineering projects and platform strategies within manufacturing, healthcare, CPG, or similarly complex industries. This leader will be a key architect of the company’s data strategy and a catalyst for business innovation through data applications, AI, and other tech.
About the Role: Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the Head of Data Engineering & Platform will be responsible for:
Leading the lifecycle management of data products, technology and platforms.
Presence in front of the business and working with the business to understand the business challenges
Collaborating with IT and business units to align data & technology solutions with strategic objectives.
Driving innovation through the adoption of cutting-edge data technologies, including AI and machine learning.
Measuring and optimizing the success of data platforms through well-defined KPIs.
This Position can be Remote, Travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management Strategy & Leadership:
Develop and implement the global data management strategy in alignment with TE goals.
Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer, CIOs, and senior business leaders to create and execute a data roadmap that addresses cross-functional business needs globally.
Data Platforms & Architecture:
Oversee the design, development, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide data & AI platforms and infrastructure.
Leverage cloud-based technologies and advanced analytics tools to meet diverse data needs.
Drive scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency in data systems.
Data Governance & Compliance:
Implement embedded and robust data governance framework with technical environment, access rights and controls to ensure data quality, integrity, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
Lead data architecture stewardship to promote accountability and best practices across technology organization and with business stakeholders.
Data Management & Integration:
Manage operational, manufacturing, commercials, and other data across multiple systems and platforms.
Ensure clean, accurate, and timely data availability to support organizational decision-making, analytics, and AI.
Legacy data platforms migration and data ecosystem simplification:
Lead major legacy reduction program and technology simplification.
Lead M&A efforts and integrations.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with IT, analytics, AI, and operational teams to understand and address business data needs.
Clearly communicate data capabilities, technology platform strategy, and benifits to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development:
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing data engineering and platform globally distributed team.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Experience & Expertise:
10+ years of progressive data & tech leadership experience in data engineering, platform development, architecture.
Proven expertise in building and managing large-scale, cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Deep understanding of advanced analytics, and AI technologies and required data management approaches.
Strong experience in technical and data governance, integration, and compliance frameworks.
Leadership Skills:
Exceptional ability to lead and inspire globally distributed teams. Experience working across time-zones.
Demonstrated experience in fostering collaboration and driving alignment among diverse stakeholders.
Skilled in managing technical vendors relationships, contract negotiation, and establishing external partnerships.
Strategic Thinking:
Entrepreneurial mindset with a proven ability to drive performance and deliver results.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and investments for data and tech initiatives.
Ability to identify emerging trends and translate them into actionable data management, AI and tech strategies.
Communication & Problem-Solving:
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to convey complex technical information to varied audiences.
Proven ability to navigate large, global organizations to gain alignment and buy-in.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $220,000 – 320,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
