BCT has a short-term requirement with the strong possibility of work being extended. We seek a highly motivated and experienced Meta Data Manager to join our Chief Data Officer team inside the CIO. The candidate will be responsible for cataloging data assets for discoverability and supporting the Data Stewards and Custodians in identifying and managing data assets. The candidate must have an active Top Secret/SCI and a CI Poly. The customer supports a hybrid working environment with three days onsite and two days of telework. The candidate can work at Joint Base Bolling-Anacostia (JBAB), DC, Riverdale, MD, or Reston, VA.

Required

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the customer and internal working groups to promote best practices for developing and implementing the metadata needed for cataloging data assets with a focus on data quality, validation, and curation.
  • Analyze policies related to metadata capture requirements.
    • Data discovery, sharing, and integration.
    • Apply policy to metadata collection and registration.
    • Provide input and documentation to improve data registration design.
  • Provide advice and input to data policy as it relates to
    • Data Management oversight
    • Data Security
    • Data Structure
    • Data Exchange
  • Collaborate with IT Data Strategist and IT Data Scientist to automate policy enforcement.
  • Describe metadata use.
    • Data asset and resource types.
    • Relationships between assets and resources.
    • Develop representative metadata models.
  • Ability to learn current technology and operating models
    • Customized Collibra Platform Self-Hosted (CPSH) Data Governance Center
    • Roles and responsibilities
    • Application workflows
    • Asset Types, Domain Types, Relation Types, Statuses, and Data Quality Rules
  • Ability to lead other metadata managers and assist customers
    • Assist users in finding relevant information and discovering resources.
    • Oversee data cataloging efforts and Data Catalog content
    • Lead team meetings
    • Requirements analysis
    • Clarify and assign work
    • Follow-up and report
  • Assist in producing standard operating procedures for metadata capture and data asset registration.
  • Weekly significant and general activity reporting

Education/Experience

Must have at least ten (10) years of project management experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, five (5) years of which are in management consulting or change management and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience with a Master's degree or advanced training in information technology. Four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
