Senior Director Data and Applications Architecture

SUMMARY

As the data architecture leader at Avetta, you’ll be responsible for defining and driving the data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and establishing best data management and governance practices. This leader will play a critical role in shaping our data systems landscape and data applications, driving innovation, and ensuring effective data management practices enterprise wide. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and evolve the enterprise data strategy and target state architecture to support delivery of business objectives
• Ensure alignment and drive advancement of the enterprise systems roadmap towards the target state architecture in alignment with enterprise technology strategy
• Support the advancement of standard methodologies and core principles around data governance to enable alignment with long term objectives
• Provide technical oversight to solution delivery in creating business driven solutions adhering to the enterprise architecture and data governance standards
• Advocate for the advancement of our AI/GenAI capabilities in support of business opportunities (data products, underwriting, business analytics, etc)
• Build strong working relationships with systems architects and delivery leaders in across data and application organizations
• Build a team of data architects and data engineers and work successfully across organizational boundaries
• Advocate for the adoption of modern data-centric technologies & techniques with teams across NM to improve access and quality of data
• Provide insight and oversight into the BI and application roadmaps to make sure our architecture scales appropriately
• Ability to be involved in several projects at once while maintaining realistic expectations of your own deliverables and those around you.
• Prioritize roadmap delivery based on business impact
• Create enterprise applications and data integration strategy, and execute upon that strategy

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• 10 years of relevant experience in a growth-oriented technology company.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer systems, data science or technology.
• Commensurate continuing education to remain at the forefront of your discipline and demonstrate a continuous learning mentality.
• Advanced level SQL proficiency.
• Experience working with multiple BI reporting tools and data warehouses.
• Experience designing and implementing highly visible and innovative analytical solutions.
• Deep expertise and understanding of modern data, Generative AI and cloud technology required
• Extensive data modeling experience with operational and analytical data stores.
• Deep understanding of data governance principles and standard methodologies, ability to apply a practical approach to driving data governance maturity.

• Experience using AI/ML models to drive recommendation engines or other data products.
• Demonstrable ability to drive broad enterprise alignment and the successful implementation of impactful technology solutions.

• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve organizational objectives.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
