Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Senior Data Analysis Engineer is to assist in the building of a state-of-the-art casino management system from the ground up. The Senior Data Analysis Engineer will analyze complex data sets, provide actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making across various aspects of casino operations, particularly during the inception stages of the project.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders during the initial phases of the project to identify key data requirements and define objectives, ensuring that data needs align with business goals and user expectations.
Gather, clean, and organize data from multiple sources, including gaming operations, player interactions, and financial transactions.
Perform in-depth analyses to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities, presenting findings through reports and dashboards to stakeholders.
Work closely with product owners, developers, and business teams to understand data needs and ensure alignment with business goals.
Analyze player behavior and engagement metrics to inform marketing strategies, loyalty programs, and operational improvements.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of various initiatives and support continuous improvement.
Utilize modern data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create interactive dashboards that facilitate data exploration and decision-making.
Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic projects, answering specific business questions and providing insights to drive decisions.
Stay informed about the latest data technologies and methodologies, recommending tools and processes that enhance data analytics capabilities.
Perform job duties in a safe manner.
Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 21 years of age.
Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis, or a related field.
Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
5+ years of experience in data analysis.
Demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, preferably within the gaming or hospitality industry.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data manipulation and analysis.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and reporting software.
Understanding of statistical analysis techniques and data modeling concepts.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with modern data technologies and practices (e.g., cloud data warehouses, ETL processes) preferred.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to:
Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.
Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
