Transforming supply chains through an end-to-end platform for planning, execution, commerce and returns.We are looking for an experienced Principal Applied Research Engineer in Generative AI to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder.
The focus of this role is to bring expertise in LLM training, evaluating and data engineering for the next generation Supply Chain Management software leveraging Generative AI.
As a key player in the Blue Yonder AI Innovation Studio, you will work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of Generative AI and machine learning in the supply chain planning and execution domains across a variety of business verticals (manufacturing, retail, transportation,…)
While this is a research role in support of product development, the ideal candidate loves to code with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
Primary Duties:Responsible for designing, developing, and testing new methods based on generative AI:
Lead and provide general expertise for training (pre-training, fine tuning, instruction training) and evaluation of Gen AI models.
Develop methodologies, including curating datasets for instruction training, fine tuning and evaluation in Supply Chain context.
Support enhancement with Gen AI of Blue Yonder solution portfolio across supply chain planning and execution solutions:
Develops prototypes and proofs of principles
Productize fine-tuned models and algorithms
Champion GenAI technology at Blue Yonder:
Keeps up to date with technology and research latest trends in the industry.
Mentors team on pertinent scientific libraries and development tools.
Empowers team members by sharing knowledge and providing hints so they come up with their own solutions.
Reflects on how the team works towards delivering value and actively improves processes within their team.
Develops quality software (including test code) according to clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards.
Considers operational aspects of Gen AI services in early design stages and strives for more automation and self-service to reduce operational efforts for themselves and the team.
Self-driven with the desire to take ownership and ability to deliver high quality code (Python primarily)
Min 10+ years of software development experience, with a strong foundation in software engineering skills, architecture, and deploying scalable systems is REQUIRED.
Proven track record of engineering LLMs with finetuning, RAG systems, AI agents, …
Thorough understanding of infrastructure costs of GenAI products and services and optimizing resource consumption.
Significant publications and contributions in Gen AI community is a plus (e.g. Hugging Face)
