Education required:
Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics and Grade 4 in GCSE English Language (or equivalent).
BBC at A-Level to include Maths (or equivalent). A-Levels in Citizenship Skills, General Studies, and Critical Thinking will not be accepted.
Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English.
Location: You will be based at Stevenage. You must live within a 60-minute commute of the site location on the day you start your apprenticeship as you are expected to be on site daily.
Expected start date: September 2025.
Duration: 3.5 years.

We are looking for motivated individuals with a willingness and enthusiasm to learn, who are excited to join the Global Procurement function and use your developing skills to aid the organisation, by:
Learning and using advanced data analysis methods to spot opportunities for better negotiations, improve quality and service levels, and identify missed savings opportunities.
Mastering machine learning approaches to obtain additional insights from datasets
Learning how to provide statistical and technical support to leaders and decision makers when designing new projects, how to summarise and report results to different types of audiences.

What will you do?
Discover ways to boost the profitability of a leading biopharma company, leveraging your skills to analyse and interpret a wide range of ever changing data sources.
Be a champion for Procurement’s own Digital Transformation, advocating the use of new technologies, and encouraging Design Thinking principles with Procurement Professionals
Assist in managing large datasets, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Experience development opportunities, including formal training, coaching and mentoring
Develop purchasing and negotiation strategies and demonstrate project leadership underpinned by sound data driven decision making
Negotiate at senior or executive management level with our supply base
Lead contract negotiations and review financial proposals
You will manage spend across multiple functions, including marketing, manufacturing and research
Gain in-depth and cross-sectional insights across the Global Procurement function.
Identify and develop opportunities to implement data science principles into Procurement
Working with highly skilled professionals, you could be involved in a variety of initiatives. You could bring a new respiratory product technology from our suppliers to our patients. Or perhaps create an ad campaign with our social-media partners to reach new consumers in emerging markets. With a stream of diverse and absorbing projects, Procurement is a fascinating area with tremendous scope for progress.
What do we offer you?
A competitive starting base salary of £20,800 per year, which increases after year 1 to £26,400 (subject to annual review), plus an annual bonus based on company performance.
