Locus Robotics is a leader in the rapidly growing eCommerce order fulfillment optimization space. We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Robotics Test Technician to join our Locus team. In this onsite role, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing and validating the performance of AMRs systems. Responsibilities

  • Robotics Testing & Validation: Conduct functional and performance testing on robotic assemblies, subassemblies, and components to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify, document, and troubleshoot issues with robotic hardware and software to improve system performance and product quality.
  • Test Procedure Development: Collaborate with Test Engineering to develop and refine test plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure comprehensive evaluation of robotic assemblies.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Collect, analyze, and record test data to assess the functionality, accuracy, and reliability of robotic systems. Prepare detailed test reports and documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback and recommendations for design improvements based on test results and performance analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all testing activities comply with safety guidelines and industry regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair robotic assemblies and test equipment as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in robotics testing, automation, or a related technical field.
  • 1+ years of experience working in lab or workshop setting diagnosing and resolving issues in full system architecture, including developing and executing organized diagnostic processes.
  • Proficiency in basic Linux terminal navigation (e.g., running scripts, viewing logs, and managing files); advanced system administration is not required.
  • Proficiency in using a range of hand tools and technical equipment for assembly and diagnostics, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and standard hand tools.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems related to robotics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient English oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to reliably commute to the work locations (Wilmington, MA; Tewksbury, MA; & Nashua NH) as scheduled and consistently perform their regular work assignments on a daily basis.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations.
