Job Description & Summary:
We are looking for a skilled ETL Tester with knowledge in Guidewire to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management with specific expertise in Guidewire Insurance Suite applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of data as it is loaded from various sources into the data warehouse, with a particular focus on Guidewire-related data.

Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning and Strategy:
    • Develop and document comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL processes related to Guidewire implementations.
    • Define testing strategies, methodologies, and best practices to ensure the reliability and integrity of data within the Guidewire framework.
  • Guidewire Data Validation and Verification:
    • Perform data validation to ensure that ETL processes involving Guidewire products (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) are functioning as expected.
    • Verify that data is accurately extracted from Guidewire systems, transformed correctly, and loaded into the target data warehouse or data marts.
  • Test Execution:
    • Execute test cases and scripts to identify defects, inconsistencies, and issues in the ETL processes related to Guidewire data.
    • Conduct functional, integration, regression, and performance testing on Guidewire-related ETL processes.
  • Defect Management:
    • Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies specific to Guidewire data.
    • Collaborate with ETL developers and data engineers to resolve identified issues.
  • Automation:
    • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate testing tools and frameworks.
    • Implement and manage automated testing processes to enhance efficiency and coverage, with a focus on Guidewire-related data.
  • Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on testing activities, including metrics and KPIs related to Guidewire data.
    • Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with data architects, data analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
    • Participate in design and code reviews to provide insights from a testing perspective, especially for Guidewire implementations.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that ETL processes comply with data governance and quality standards.
    • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance quality and efficiency, particularly for Guidewire data.

Mandatory skill sets:

  • 3+ years of experience in ETL testing, data warehousing, and data integration.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Strong understanding of ETL concepts, tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS), and data warehousing.
  • Experience with Guidewire Insurance Suite applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with JIRA for issue tracking and project management.
  • Familiarity with Confluence for documentation and collaboration.

Preferred skill sets:

  • Experience with any cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
  • Knowledge of any programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Certification in testing or data-related fields (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Data Management Professional).
  • Guidewire certification or relevant training in Guidewire products.
  • Experience with automation testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JUnit).
