PL/SQL Developer & DBA - Expert in Oracle Administration & Scalable Data Architecture

Position Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced PL/SQL Developer & DBA - Expert in Oracle Administration & Scalable Data Architecture to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle database administration and development in large database environments, with a strong focus on PL/SQL optimization, data architecture, and pipeline development. This role requires innovative thinking, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Lead the administration and development of Oracle databases in a 10+ TB environment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, views, and partitions to support enterprise data solutions.
• Architect scalable data environments and oversee the development of data pipelines for both real-time streaming and batch processing using ELT/ETL methodologies.
• Address complex database issues, including performance tuning, query optimization, and caching strategies, ensuring high availability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate databases with various applications and data platforms.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in database technologies and big data platforms such as Snowflake, Cloudera, and Hadoop.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum methodologies to ensure timely delivery of projects and continuous improvement of processes.
• Provide global support for database systems and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues effectively.

Technical Skills:

• Database Administration: experience in Oracle database administration and management in large environments.
• PL/SQL Development: hands-on experience in PL/SQL development, including advanced optimization and tuning techniques.
• Data Architecture: Expertise in designing scalable data architectures and data pipeline developments.
• Data Integration: Experience in real-time streaming and batch data ELT/ETL pipelines and database integration.
• Programming Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and Scala for scalable data pipeline development is a plus.
• Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data platforms like Snowflake, Cloudera, and Hadoop is advantageous.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in database design, management, and development, with a focus on large-scale environments.

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Monitor and maintain the performance of Oracle databases, implementing best practices for optimization and security.
• Develop and optimize PL/SQL code to ensure efficient data processing and retrieval.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to design and implement data pipelines and integration strategies.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex database issues, providing solutions and recommendations.
• Mentor and guide junior staff on best practices in database administration and development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in Oracle Database Administration or PL/SQL development are preferred.
