ERM is seeking an Environmental Data Manager/Data Quality Scientist in Canada (location flexible) with experience in EQuIS, acQuire GIM Suite, or acQuire Envirosys. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and interested in a career involving analytical data management. The candidate should have a focus on data quality and be comfortable interacting with clients. As part of our team, you will work on large environmental or mining projects across North America, and support ERM’s projects worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EQuIS:

  • Integrate data from laboratory, field, and historical sources into ERM’s EQuIS™ databases and other systems.

  • Work with project teams to plan sampling campaigns and deliverable schedules, provide query/reporting support, and develop reporting dashboards for a wide variety of projects.

  • Coordinate with ERM/client contracted laboratories to ensure that project data quality objectives are being met.

  • Perform environmental data verification and validation.

acQuire GIM Suite:

  • Utilize the GIM Suite design license to create and edit the suite of objects in any acQuire database (Import, Data Entry, Report and others).

  • Integrate QAQC processes into the assay results workflow.

  • Deliver post-implementation end-user training to clients managing an acQuire GimSuite database.

  • Develop Arena tasks for logging and reporting.

General:

  • Work with ERM’s various Technical Communities to develop innovative data services and automated workflows.

  • Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.

  • Perform and manage multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA degree in chemistry, geology or environmental science related field.

  • 0-2+ years (3+ years preferred) of previous work experience in environmental data quality with strong analytical/database skills. A background in environmental chemistry with prior analytical laboratory experience and/or data validation is preferred.

  • Knowledge of various analytical methods related to environmental sampling.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Comfortable working at a desk performing computer-based tasks.

  • Comfortable in meetings with clients, configuring acQuire objects to achieve expected results.

  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Access.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of previous work experience in environmental data quality with strong analytical/database skills.

  • Experience with EarthSoft’s EQuIS™ software (and all included modules).

  • Experience with sample preparation and analysis and use of various analytical laboratory instruments (GC/MS, GC, ICP, LC, etc.).

  • Experience with R or other computer language.

  • Experience with acQuire GIM Suite

  • A detailed understanding of SQL Server RDBMS is preferred.
