Data Analyst Data and Information Management Support

Requirements

Data Analyst: 1.0 Scientific Information Services Level I (1) 

• Help create processes for social science data acquisition and stewardship and support change management across NESDIS to adopt those processes 

• Provide day-to-day support for stakeholders using NESDIS data acquisition and stewardship systems 

• Provide expert guidance and support on data analysis to a variety of user engagement projects to help NESDIS extract value from its data (unstructured data, NLP/ML applications, multi-modal) 

• Design and manage collection, reporting and visualization  dashboards 

• Perform analyses on user engagement data 

• Experience working with a variety of data management and visualization tools, such as  

PowerBI, 

Tableau 

Google Looker Studio 

• Experience working with Customer Relationship Management systems a plus 

Important: 

•  Good organizational skills, detail oriented 

•  Good communication and critical thinking skills 

• Proactively identifies potential roadblocks and creates plans to overcome them." 

• BA/BS in a quantitative science or social science field, such as economics, statistics, or data science, familiar with Natural Language Processing applications and aspects of unstructured databases. 

• 5+ years of experience working in the field
