Position Summary:

The NBA is looking for an Associate Product Manager to join a diverse product development team. You will be a part of the team responsible for the ingestion, storage, processing and data science of the basketball statistics from the NBA, WNBA, G League, BAL and 2K.

 

Our team’s primary goals are to maintain the historical statistical records of the NBA and its affiliate leagues and then use that data through machine learning and artificial intelligence to build fan-facing products that engage and educate fans across the world. 

 

You will be responsible for managing the team’s relationships with partners and internal stakeholders fielding questions and requests as well as effectively communicating expectations, priorities, and timelines. Major Responsibilities:

  • Work with product development and product management teams to conceptualize, develop and release new NBA Advanced Stats Products
  • Advocate for the use and advancement of NBA Advanced Stats Products with both internal and external partners
  • Project manage NBA Advanced Stats development projects
  • Manage relationships with internal and external skateholders
  • Make internal and external presentations to help educate key groups on NBA Advanced Stats initiatives
  • Gather feedback on new product features and effectively convey that feedback to the rest of the development team
  • Represent NBA Stats team as a subject matter expert at cross-departmental meetings
  • Regularly help Broadcast, Social, Product and Content teams effectively utilize NBA Advanced Stats
  • Document development stories and track progress within project management software
  • Research relevant statistical tidbits for Social and Content teams
  • QA NBA Advance Stats products as part of the regular release cycle
  • Help remove development blockers across multiple development teams


Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • Backelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of technical project or product management or programming experience

 

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills!
  • Strong understanding of NBA basketball and NBA statistics
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective leader of large presentations
  • Detail oriented
  • Willing to learn!
  • Proficient in college level mathematics and statistics
  • Basic SQL query and python skills are a plus
  • Knowledge of APIs and Software Development are a plus

 

Salary Range: $92,500 - $115,000
