GIS Data Developer

The GIS Data Developer provides information and mapping solutions to global operations, acquisitions and portfolio management teams. Working under general supervision, this role will utilize programming and coding skills to develop and maintain web-based and automated mapping and data deliver and collection applications.



Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs spatial data preparation, analysis, and mapping with results presented via online, digital, and/or paper maps.
  • Develops spatial data solutions using leading GIS ((e.g., Environmental Systems Research Institute, etc.)
    and Data management (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, etc.) development tools, related programming languages, as well as advanced skills in Geographic Information Systems analysis and cartography.
  • Develop business intelligence systems to support business operations
  • Works under the direction of the Head of Data, in coordination with Nuveen Natural Capital staff within a team environment.
  • Performs multiple tasks, including providing information and mapping solutions in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Translates company strategy and vision to project prioritization, solution development, and implementation.

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 2+ Years Required; 3+ Years Preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years Experience with GIS (Geography Information Systems) Tool - ARC
  • 2+ Years Experience with Relational Databases such as SQL and/or Oracle
  • 2+ Years Experience with Data Visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau and/or Alteryx.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Asset Management
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies
  • Experience in a Scrum/Agile environment
  • Familiarity managing diverse data sets from other internal and external sources
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies such as MS Azure.

Base Pay Range: $78,800/yr. - $110,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
