On the Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) team at Takeda, you’ll be part of a rapidly transforming industry that’s applying technology and data in new ways. Job Description:

We are looking for an ambitious and analytical Data Science Intern to join our team for the summer. As a Data Scientist intern, you will work closely with cross-functional business teams to help solve real-world problems using data-driven approaches. While data is a powerful tool, we recognize that true improvements come from a deep understanding of the business, where data can be strategically embedded to support better decision-making. The Intern will:

• Collaborate with business teams to identify problems where data-driven solutions can create value.
• Analyze data sets to provide actionable insights that support business decision-making.
• Assist in building and refining statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
• Develop data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in operational improvement projects, integrating lean and six sigma methodologies.
• Support the improvement of data pipelines and ensure data quality across various business functions.
• Present analysis and project outcomes to team members and leadership, translating technical results into business-friendly language.
• Conduct ad-hoc data analyses to answer specific business questions as they arise.

Job Requirements:

• This position will be Fully Onsite and require 4+ days in the Thousand Oaks office per week.
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a Data Science related major
• Exposure to operational excellence concepts such as Lean and Six Sigma a plus
• Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel)
• Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering
• Highly reliable and a strong team player
• Flexible with an attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Internship Eligibility

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
• The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd)
  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
• Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
• Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
