The Role: 

Join a long-term project for a leading insurance client as a Data Governance Analyst. You’ll drive data-focused projects, support strategic transformation efforts, and collaborate across business and IT teams to deliver critical analytics and insights, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

  • This is a hybrid role - London or Manchester
  • Target start date: February 2025

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Lead data quality initiatives, including profiling, cleansing, and remediation.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Support data integration and migration projects, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Promote data governance best practices and data literacy across the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT, Analytics, and business teams to align data policies and objectives.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, or Data Management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in SQL and metadata management, and data governance tools.
  • Familiar with Python.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across departments.
  • Insurance industry experience with knowledge of policy lifecycles and data structures is good to have.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, and cloud integration.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and reporting frameworks.
  • Project management experience in Agile, Waterfall, and cross-functional environments.
