Planning and Control Intern

The Planner Frameworks team thinks about the Planner as an integrated whole. We own and maintain the shared top-level components utilized by all the other teams contributing to the system. We ensure the overall health of Planner in terms of performance measures like latency and stability. We ensure the codebase is modern, high quality, and testable. Finally, we add new capabilities to Planner with an emphasis on foundational pieces that are wider than any single team's area of ownership.
In this role you will help improve performance (latency & memory usage) of the Planner, build CI pipelines that measure Planner, and contribute towards architectural changes to Planner.  

Technical Qualifications & Language Requirements

• Working towards a degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Interest in robotics illustrated by dedicated course specialization and/or robotics extra curricular activities
• Proficiency with C++
• Exposure to basic Python
• Bonus qualification: experience with performance tooling (e.g. Perfetto) or course work in low latency programing 

CompensationThe monthly salary range for this position is $6,500 to $9,500. Compensation will vary based on role, degree level and type, and benefits will be offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, 401k, and a housing stipend.
