Description

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced leader for our AI/ML and Data Engineering team to spearhead the transformation leveraging Azure Cloud technology. As the Director of AI/ML and Data Architecture, you will lead solution design, develop governance, and manage your global team’s deliverables and quality control. You and your team are responsible for managing AI/ML and data for Skyworks’ global organization.

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Direct and lead cross-functionally to implement the organization’s Ai/ML and data strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Lead initiatives to improve the usability, scalability, efficiency, and security of data resources.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI/ML projects, from ideation and research to deployment and monitoring.
Lead and manage a team of AI/ML engineers and data scientists to develop and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions.
Align data systems with broader organizational data solutions and analytics initiatives.
Enable the data science team by establishing robust AI Models and data pipelines that ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable solutions, enabling advanced analytics and informed decision-making.
Drive the evolution and architecture for scalable and secure data platforms.
Design and develop robust database solutions to manage data efficiently.
Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture and Product teams to design and implement a modern data architecture.
Engage with strategic internal customers and ensure their future needs and vision are considered in solution design.
Oversee deployment of long-term strategic data products infusing key data and analytics services in applicable areas of the business and IT.
Design and own conceptual and logical data models, data flows, and integration patterns for the data lake, data lakehouse, and consumption data layers. Communicate build strategy to team ensuring accurate and quality outcomes delivered on time.
Provide guidance and architecture direction to the AI/ML and data team to build data models which reflect how data will be consumed by functional teams like Finance, Supply Chain, and others. Develop the relationship between the different data sources. 
Develop and enforce data standards, procedures, and definitions for data governance ensuring understanding and adoption across the business landscape.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity through quality assurance processes.
Effectively manage global resources and implement a cost-effective geographic resource strategy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field; master’s degree in related field is a plus

15+ years of applicable experience with 10+ years of specific IT experience in managing solution designs.

7+ years of hands-on experience in lead roles architecting solutions at scale for cloud data platforms.

Hands-on experience architecting and building secure, scalable, and flexible enterprise data projects in Microsoft Azure.

Strong governance and management experience is required.

Effective communication skills (verbal, written, presentation/public speaking)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficient at working in Agile project methodologies.

Good time management and organizational skills

Comfortable multitasking between multiple projects

Ability to work on challenging issues independently or in a team environment.

Ability to work effectively with international and multicultural teams and with all levels of management

The following technical skills are considered a “plus”:

Experience in machine learning including ML Flow.

Experience in containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and container deployment.

Knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing industry

Knowledge of big data technologies and data architecture.

Experience with AI/ML model deployment and monitoring in a production environment.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $139,100 - $278,300 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
