Join our Digital Performance Solutions team as a Process Data Historian Specialist. You'll collaborate within a robust team, reporting to the Director, Digital Performance Solutions. While typically based in Montreal, for the right candidate, a remote base within Eastern Canada could be considered with regular head office visits.

You will work within a team to assist with data connectivity, data management, cloud platforms, process data historians and visualization software tools for our customers. Your work will be performed both in the office and at customer sites, applying software and data management expertise to deploy and support data management in new and existing industrial automation solutions. This position will provide an opportunity to apply your software knowledge and industry experience through design, implementation and ongoing service and support with the guidance and support of a highly qualified team. The training provided for this opportunity will consist of formal training, mentoring, and partnering with peers in the field.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Implement, integrate, and test software applications with a focus on data historian platforms like Aveva PI, Aspentech IP.21, and Capstone DataPARC.
  • Design, configure, develop, and test purpose-built data solutions in collaboration withcustomers.
  • Testing of software applications for on-premises, virtual, and cloud-based deployment.
  • Lead project delivery, encompassing technical implementations, testing, and documentation using both Waterfall and Agile Methods.
  • Manage incident response and service requests, providing troubleshooting and support for
  • software applications.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Digital Foundations team to improve internal processes.
  • Travel to customer sites may be required, however the current expectation is a large percentage of the work will be executed from our Laurentide Controls office.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Engineering/Science Degree or Technologist Diploma (ie. Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical background with interest in technology).
  • Certifications with AVEVA, Aspentech, or similar platforms are advantageous.
  • Experience with Windows Server operating systems is a requirement.
  • Demonstrated excellent Customer Service is an asset.
  • Network Administration and Server Troubleshooting is an asset.
  • Experience with databases (SQL, Mongo), and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is an
  • asset, please highlight in your application.
  • Experience with SQL server administration, ODBC connections, and communication
  • Protocols (TCP, OPC, Modbus) is an asset.
  • Understanding of Distributed Control Systems and PLC’s is beneficial.
  • Experience with HART-IP, JSON, MQTT is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities, technical curiosity, and solid problem-solving skills.
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic, passion for customer service, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license with the willingness to travel.
  • Possess minimum 3 years of relevant experience with Process Data Historians (e.g., Aveva PI, IP21, DataPARC) is a requirement.
  • Communication skills, written and verbal, in French.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English would be considered an asset.
