Data and Governance Analyst

Job Description:

The Data and Governance Analyst understands the retail industry and is proficient in doing data analysis. Works across Technology, Business Stakeholders, Vendor, and executive teams for data-related and insight needs. Review data and determine how to solve problems using that data and learn critical insights about a business's customers and boost profits.

THE ESSENTIALS:

• Data Exploration and Analysis: Analysts use statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyze data, identifying patterns, relationships, and trends.
• Help in improving efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and manage risks by interpreting complex data sets.
• Success in data analysis demands a balance of technical skills (data cleaning and statistical analysis) and soft skills (critical thinking and communication)
• Work with other departments to understand their data needs and help them make informed decisions based on data insights
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the insights and findings from the data to stakeholders, which can influence policy and decision-making processes.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and other technical tools.
• Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
• Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate accountability, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM practices

SCOPE:

• Study, analyze and understand business requirements in context to business intelligence.
• Design and map data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights.
• Spot key performance indicators with apt objectives
• Transform business requirements into technical publications
• Build multi-dimensional data models
• Develop strong data documentation about algorithms, parameters, models
• Perform detailed analysis on tested and deployed Power BI scripts
• Make essential technical and strategic changes to improvise present business intelligence systems
• Identify the requirements and develop custom charts accordingly
• SQL querying for better results

CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Software Engineering
• 10+ years of data analysis experience
• Proficient in SQL writing skills
• Experience in restaurant / gaming industry

THE GOODS:

• Minimum 10 years of experience of working with BI tools
• Knowledge about database management, SQL querying, data modeling, and Online Analytical Processing.
• Must possess experience of working with BI tools and BI systems.
• Must be able to build rich dashboards, write DAX expressions, and implement security.
• Additional consideration given for experience scripting and programming language such as Python
• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence stack like Power Pivot, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS
